both sides stuffed their piggy banks until they squealed. total amount raised and spent by the parties and their supporters? nearly $6 billion, or enough to hire 3600 extra teachers for ten years. just saying. worst running mates. other republican candidates who crushed their party's hopes for taking the senate with comments about women, rape and abortion. not that democrats exactly thrilled america either. worst thing in all of politics once again this year -- the united states congress, which according to gallup, voters trust just slightly more than car dealers. >> the good thing for congress is that there's nowhere to go but up. >> they have no faith in the government at all. >> best way to keep the polls going down? that delaying tactic called sequestrati sequestration. neither party wanted to tackle tough budget issues before the election, so they kicked the can down the road, right to the edge of the fiscal cliff.
